Pet subscription boxes have been on the market for a few years now. Every few months, I think, oh, let me sign up for one of those for the cats. This is not surprising since I truly love sending and receiving mail—especially all the fun things! So why wouldn't I want to have my cats get fun snail mail?!?
BarkBox is the one most people have heard of and get. Obviously geared towards dogs. I know a dog that gets this monthly subscription, and she loves it. (So does her Grammy.) It comes with toys and treats; what's not to like?!
There is a KitNipBox for the feline lovers. KitNipBox’s monthly subscription boxes for cats contain the best high-quality cat toys, all-natural treats, and other fun, healthy cat products. It's fairly affordable at $19.99 a month and includes 5 items. It's hard to buy 5 treats/toys for under $20.
Part of the reason I have yet to sign up for a subscription box is that my cats have a zillion and one toys, more treats than they need, and are already spoiled. Not to mention, I love shopping for new toys for them—after all, that's part of the fun: new toys for us to play with!
BarkBox is slightly more expensive at $22 per box. It includes 2 toys, 2 bags of treats, and one surprise item. I've heard these boxes are customizable, so you can opt for 4 toys instead of treats, or vice versa!
While I have yet to sign up for a subscription box for my #purrfectdozen crew, it's a thought simmering on the back burner. One day, it'll happen, I'm sure. The real question is - will the cats enjoy the contents of the box or enjoy the box alone? Dobby loves a good box - it doesn't matter the size, she's always trying to get in them. The most challenging are the soda boxes as they are extremely narrow, and she can only get her head in them.
If you are currently subscribed or previously subscribed to a pet box delivery, let me know your thoughts on them! Were they worth the cost? Did your pets love the toys and treats they received? Is it better to save my money and buy toys as I see cute ones?
Till our tails cross again,
Mel
